I'm currently a journalism student at St. Thomas University in Fredericton NB, Canada.
I've been a paddler, a kayaker, sailor, competitive swimmer, lifeguard and lifesaving instructor.
I'm a traveler at heart, having visited dozens of cities on 3 continents and counting.

I've been learning photography hands on for the last 5 years. First with a simple P&S, then the Canon S1 IS. From there it was up a Canon Rebel XT (350D), and now I have a Canon 40D and am (very) slowly building my L lens collection.

I have no formal education but I have to say thanks a lot to all the guys over at www.dpreview.com. I've learned much from them over the last couple years.

Your images display a great deal of sensitivity toward the subjects you photographs. And from my experience some of them may be relevant to magazine market as well. Have you ever thought about that? Fortunately, you do not invest thousands, the first photo I sold was taken by a 4Mp Nikon Coolpix. What you really need is to find an appropriate magazine. There are quite a few really good books and websites out there if you go looking. My suggestion is to check one of them – http://www.freelance-market.net – and try a couple magazines until you find out what does the job right for you. And certainly don't be despondent when your images are rejected or not used. After all it’s fun.
